Quick Forage
Today’s walk was nice. I found a lot of mushrooms, but only kept the oysters. I also collected a lot of ramp seeds to improve the ramp patch behind my house. I have transplanted ramps but never gathered seed. I hope they they take.
I also found a newt. They hangout around mushrooms.

Today’s walk July 3
Today’s walk was more of a climb. I spent my time on the valley walls down by the creek behind my house, very vertical. I found tons of mushrooms to eat, and some just to look at.

Quick fall walk not much to see today but, found some inky caps to add to dinner. The more leaves I moved the more I found, but I only took a few. The fall inkys don’t seem to last more then few hour after picking. The ones that come up in the spring will usually keep over night, at least till breakfast. Happy hunting

Olive oyster mushrooms, one of the last mushrooms of the year. I cooked them up with just butter, salt, pepper and garlic. Then toasted them on some sourdough with feta, Parmesan and some rosemary.
