Maple and birch Sap is an AWSOME forage. It’s foraging sugar! You can do candy and syrup and beer. 😛 I am going to freeze concentrate. Then use it as a base for beer. (and do syrup …. and well candy too)
Sap is running so. I made myself some Spiles. I also shared off the design so other people can make them.
I am a big Tolkien nerd. So I made up some Lord of the Rings Christmas tree ornaments. I put them up for free download on thingivers.

I did another 3D printing project today. I did it for/with the kids and not at all because it’s incredibly fun. I traced out a Fly Agaric I found a while back complete with slug and we made another hair pin set. We also made up necklaces and earrings to match. Again posted it free on Thingiverse.
My daughters are going to a Harry Potter Fest at Edinboro University. So I made them some owl hair pins. This is the first time I made something like this on the printer. I used Sketch Book Pro for iPad for draw up. Then AutoCAD to sold model it. They love them. My wife even had me make some for her.

Off subject for my blog, but I printed the kids a snitch and a holder off of Thingiverse for a potter themed home school summer camp. It’s just geektastic. It is not my design, but I had to share.

The newspaper cups work way better then I thought they would. They hold moisture really well and are more sturdy then I would have through. I am actually a little worried about how well they will decompose. We also like that you can, more or less, pick your pot size. Anyway, now that I know they work. I am going to put the design for the seed cup mold up on Thingiverse for free download. Should be up this week. Not that it was complicated, but it will save you some time working out the right dimensions.
