Olive oyster mushrooms, one of the last mushrooms of the year. I cooked them up with just butter, salt, pepper and garlic. Then toasted them on some sourdough with feta, Parmesan and some rosemary.

My pears got huge. They are the size of grapefruits.
Today’s quick walk
Shaggy mane (coprinus comatus) very good, among my favorite. The pictures were taken by my friend Mike while he was geocaching.
Morning walk, (Bonus points for civil disobedience.)
Boletes, and Brick Tops
Today’s walk
Fly Agaric – I do not see a lot of the red. I have always been curious to see if I worked on fruit flies, but just do not want it sitting around with my 4 year old at home.
Alcohol inky caps (Coprinopsis atramentaria) – these taste like normal inky caps, I’m told, but they contains coprine so you can not eat it if you drink alcohol. Soooooo not for me then.
Went for a halftime walk and my kids found king boletes (Boletus edulis) and Hypsizygus tessulatus (or Pleurotus elongatipes). I did not take home the Hypsizygus it was too close to the road. I did have a great snack for the second half.
Saw some decent steelheads while mushroom hunting. Time to go fishing.
